Reach Out & Give a Book
When a new Member joins Readeo, we give a book to a child in need through First Book, a leading non-profit in the children’s literacy space. For 20 years, First Book has worked with communities nationwide to provide books to children in need.
Set up a Readeo Member account today. If you already have a Member account, tell your friends to join Readeo! Promote literacy among your family and friends and help us give more books to children who need them!

Reach Out eVolunteering
Readeo is pioneering a new, more convenient way for volunteers to read with children in schools. As long as a volunteer has Internet access and a webcam, he can read with a child from anywhere!
We’ve partnered with Chicago International Charter School to launch our pilot eVolunteering program. Our eVolunteers read with a reading buddy in the Loomis K-2 school for 30 minutes each week using Readeo’s BookChat. If you’d like to get involved in this program, please e-mail us at volunteer@readeo.com or visit our eVolunteering Launch Announcement for more information.
Did you know?
The majority of American children struggle with literacy. The National Assessment of Educational Progress reports 70% of students entering fourth grade read below the appropriate grade level. This statistic is even more alarming when you consider the educational focus in the fourth grade shifts from learning to read to reading to learn. If a child can’t read well in the fourth grade, he begins to struggle to learn and falls behind.
Providing more access to books and reading with children are two important ways to improve childhood literacy. Readeo Reach Out is our effort to make a difference in these areas!
